LGBT Gay Mardis Gras

I was never so proud than I was on Sunday night when I watched the Sydney Gay Mardis Gras on SBS. The sheer number of people who attended and those who marched in the parade. SBS also had interviews with many gay athletes and individuals who came out recently. SBS must be applauded for their program and their team who worked tirelessly to make sure we saw as much of the parade as possible in a short time. I hope Magna Subanski is there again next year to bring this program once again.

Well done SBS.

Gay authors

I recently scanned the Internet looking for gay books for general reading and not porn. I was surprised to find very few available through the usual channels. However, I did find this author who is published through Amazon and is available in soft cover, electronic downloads and Kindle. His name is Phillip Lesbirel and I have placed 5 of his books with links to his Biography and his extensive list of gay and straigth books, over 40 that I could find.

The 5 I have listed are mainly gay romance but there are several fetsh, gay horror, gay travel and gay occult in his list of books so I suggest you check them out. I recently emailed him through Amazon and found out he is now producing his books in Audio format for the gay blind men in our society, through a free website, so although you can now listen to his books, he did say the quality was not good and the voice electronic so some words are not pronounced correctly such as USA becoming yousarr or UK as yuke but he is trying to remedy this and hopes to re-record the books soon. He is also looking at hireing professionls to record the books for him and making them available as a download for Kindle, Mobi and IPod and also in CD form. So, check out his Bio and his books; try him out and let me know what you think at the email address below.

I am a gay skinhead living in a city where there are no other skinheads. My only contact with other skinheads is either through this blog or through the Internet. It's ok, I am still a true skinhead, and a Sharp. I am a working man with the normal working man problems of little money and rough treatment of the authorities surrounding me. But like all skinheads, gay or straight, we  accept it as our right to be angry and arrogant and enjoy our right to let the world know we are here to stay, so get used to it. Nobody in the establishment reckoned on our being here 45 years later. In the late 60's and early 70's we were a council estate gang of rabble rowsers, looking for trouble and would soon grow out of it; but we didn't. We went from strength to strength, adding to our growing army of angry, arrogant and strong working class youths from the council estates, training others to take our place in the future, but not realising we would still be there in the new millennium. I became a skinhead in early 1970 and I still haven't hung up my boots.

Oh sure the clothes have changed and clothing and footwear manufacturers like DM's, Ben's and others have recognised the army and designed clothing for us, Underground brought out new boot rangers and so did Rangers. MA1's still rule in the jackets although I started with a Donkey Jacket myself. Some now even wear sports gear much to my own abhorrence. Traditional skins wear the uniform of yesteryear, the MA1 jacket, the DM's or other boots with steel caps, the braces shown proudly outside our jackets hanging from our waist, the washed out or faded denims, usually Levi 501's with shortened legs and football socks; Our heads shaved or cut to a No. 1 all over or maybe a Mohawk. but one thing we all love is our music and our culture. Without this we are just a mob of youth with no purpose.

May skinheads and their culture be part of our lives for the next 45 years although I think I won't see much of that time myself.

A trip through world wide gaysville

I recently completed a world trip trying to take in as many gay places and gay events as I could. My trip started with a flight to Chjang Mai in Thailand, where being gay is well accepted and there are many gay bars and restaurants. It is acceptable to show affection for your male partner and in the time I was there I saw nor felt any homophobia. Gay men are well accepted and the number of gay bars showed that gay men can be themselves in this very acceptable and open society. Many gay men from all over the world retire to Thailand and especially to Chiang Mai, as the cost of living is very affordable and the Thai men very wiling to live with gay foreigners. However, a word of warning: Some Thai men, especially the younger ones, will exploit this partnering by having their foreign partner buy a house for this parents, sometimes have his parents live with them, and in extreme cases, skip off with your money. They will be very loyal to you as long as you keep them in check and don't allow them access to any of your bank accounts. This is because they wil then look long term hoping you will leave your wealth to them on your passing away.

Bangkok is just an incredible city, but Babylon is a gay man's paradise. Thais are very prudish and dislike nudity so even when you are alone in the bedroom the light has to be off before they fully strip off. It is the same at Babylon where there is a beautiful pool, spar and sauna but everyone has swimming trunks on and usually a towel wrapped around them. Babylon is not just a gay sauna, it is also an Hotel for gay men and reasonably priced at around $60 US a night for a double room, which also gives you free access to the sauna. If you just want to go for the day and stay elsewhere, it is equivalent to $10 US a day for full use of facilities, including the restaurant overlooking the pool, the hairdresser, sauna, pool, spa, massage, gym and the many bars available in some great garden areas.

My next stop was Accra in Ghana to meet a young man I had met on a chat line, and I was not disappointed. There are many gay men in Ghana looking for older white men to take them away from their impoverished life. I met with several men there but I went to visit Peter and he was Devinne. He was loving and caring and my heart melted when I first met him. He is as black as the ace of spades but his smile and his eyes are just so expressive ( political correctness does not exist in Ghana and they refer to themselves as black and others as white or yellow). I had fallen in love with him during the time we corresponded before we met which was about 12 months, so I knew a lot about him before we met face to face. Many gay men receive requests to chat from Ghanaian men and most just discard them immediately. I was one of those men, but when I received an email from Peter, for some reason I took notice. I am glad I did. I am now partnered to Peter and a very happy man. If you do decide to go to Ghana, then caution should be exercised. Sodomy is an offence in their law and subject to 7 years jail. Even suspicion of being gay will get you arrested and jailed. In public you cannot be gay and when in your accommodation, make sure the lights are out before you both get into bed as the police have CCTV hidden in all hotel rooms and holiday accommodation and check them regularly. So if you are contacted by a young man from Ghana, don't just delete as many of us do. Check him out and give him the benefit of the doubt. They want to please, and yes they do want to get out of Ghana and you will have to pay for their trip out as their wages are equivalent of about $5 US a week so they cannot get themselves out of poverty. But if you want a loyal and loving man in your bed, then check out the Ghanaian boys.

London, well what can I say; as gay a city as I have ever seen. I spent most of my time at Central in Kings Cross as I was staying around the corner, and their playrooms underneath called 'The Underground' were well used. Apart from the usual tourist things, their 'underwear or less afternoons were fun and their wet nights also. Being a skinhead, I hoped they would have a skinhead night, but I was only there for 5 nights and there was none scheduled while I was there. Pity, I really wanted to have some skinhead fun.

San Fransisco - Folsom - Oh man did Folsom open up my eyes. I have been gay for the whole of my life and had experienced as many of the kinks and fetishes I had come across, but Folsom showed me I was just a pup when it came to being gay and having fun. Every conceivable fetish was there on open display, every fetish openly being acted out. When you are crammed into 5 city blocks with 450,000 other gay men and women, it becomes crowded but so exciting. Sexual acts are openly enacted, spankings, nudity, male pole dancers, slavery, pony and dog boys, Adult babies, leather men, rubber, spandex, Lycra and vinyl, drag and heaps of bears. Folsom is a destination no gay man should miss and should try and be there at least once in his life. The Castro was just so alive at night and the adult shops and gay shops opened until midnight so you could eat and the many good restaurants then shop till you dropped. I bought a whole new wardrobe of gay underwear, a white mesh wrestling suit and a pair of great leather chaps. The bars are friendly, the food great and the Starbucks coffee awful.

Pueblo was my next stop and although Pueblo was not to check out the gay scene but more for business, I found the only gay bar; Pirates Cove. Friendly and drinks well priced. It was intimate and also had a pool table in one end. I had a great night there but as I had to leave for Denver and LA the next morning, my stay was very short. I would like to have had more time at Pirates Cove.

My flight to LA was delayed so i stayed in Redondo Beach the first night and headed for Eagle gay bar. It is hard to find and in an industrial area but was dark in the bar area and garden area but very friendly. I had a good discussion with a group of transgender and their bear protector. The transgender were all Latino but their protector was a white American. The garden area was where most congregated and the weather, although cooling, was still pleasant. I had an enjoyable night.

Palm springs was an absolute joy to be in. I stayed at the Cathedral City Boys Club and had a ball (or 2) with a good clean room and helpful staff. The resort is fully gay and once inside the resort it is fully clothes optional, and few wore any clothes. With a big pool and spa, a sauna, gym and dungeon play room, it is well catered for all a gay man would want. The resort is only 3 star and starting to age and show deterioration, but look past that and you can have great fun; I know I did, I had one complaint and that was they had little if no tourist information and unable to book any tours for you. However, in their defence, most of their customers are from LA so don't require this service. Palm Springs has several gay resorts but CCBC is the best known. The town has several gay bars, restaurants and gay shops, mostly in Atarius Street I had many an afternoon playing Gay Bingo when I needed a cold drink and some relaxation after a day of sight seeing. And of course, when you are there, the gay shops are irresistible. I am definitely heading to Palm Springs with Peter next year.

Finally back to LA. I tried several other gay bars in LA but they were spread out throughout the city and I used several tanks of gas trying to find them. I still think Eagle Bar was the best and recommend it to you all. But as this was my first time in LA, I had to do the tourist thing and headed for Disneyland and had the best time. It had always been a boyhood dream of mine to go to Disneyland and now my dream has been fulfilled. Ok, back to the gay tours and of course Venice Beach and Muscle Beach could not be ignored. I spent a day in Venice, and Muscle beaches but they are looking run down and taken over by the medical maruahna shops. The day stated out foggy and cold but brightened up and when I was at Muscle Beach there were only 4 guys working out, all Afro Americans and all gorgeous. I eventually got to Santa Monica beach but little happening as the winds were high and cold. My trip around the world ended that night and I headed for LAX and to Brisbane then Cairns.

A world trip is exhausting and expensive but oh so rewarding. I had a ball.

A new life maybe?

Have I met the man of my dreams? Maybe, he is what I have always dreamt of in a man, but he lives in another country; a country unlikely to have immigration connections with Australia. Where may you ask have I found my dream man? Ghana. Oh I know what you are saying and thinking. They are all just wanting to find a gullible white man to get money from him and any others they can seduce. You are right, and I am very wary of this. But I met Peter by accident on line one night when I was feeling lonely and maybe a bit fragile. He instantly appealed to me and the more I chatted to him the more my heart went out to him.

Peter is an apprentice motor mechanic with 6 months left to go before he becomes a Master mechanic. I too am a motor mechanic by trade, so he instantly got my attention. He is 24 years old and I am 63. When I asked him why he was looking for an older man, his response was as most respond; looking for the father figure. Do I want a son or do I want a lover? Can he be both for me? I think he can, so I talked more with him. When we signed off, I checked out property in Accra in Ghana and found that the rental market was well priced for a retiree on a small pension. Could I live in Ghana with a younger man and be happy? I have decided to take a chance and head to Ghana for a short trip and see what it can offer me for both housing and lifestyle. It would also be good to be able to find out what level of love Peter can offer me or if he was just playing the field.

As we get older we seek love and companionship if we do not have that already. Nobody wants to die alone. I want to be remembered by somebody who loved me for who I was; a gay man looking and wanting love and willing to offer that to a man for his love, friendship and companionship in my later years.

Losing friends

Recently a dear friend of mine decided to move lock stock and barrel from his comfortable home in Australia to Chang Mai in Thailand. On a recent visit to the city, he had met the man of his dreams and decided he just had to spend the rest of his life with him. Being a Thai national, and over 45 years old, this man could not enter and live in Australia, so my friend had to live in Thailand.

Socially, we were great friends and had been lovers in times past. But this move would break our friendship apart. We usually met often, went to movies or art shows together, dined out regularly and basically were the friends who you could rely on for company and a shoulder to cry on when the need arose. But his move will break all that. Oh sure we can always get together on short visits, but will the friendship remain strong? Your lives change to your surroundings so your dependence also changes. For me my life will change dramatically as for me my social life will alter. For my friend, his life will change to finding new social contacts in Chang Mai.

I am a workaholic and my friend was the difference between working and socialising, making sure I did not work or placed on a weekend roster so I could socialise. Now, well work will take precedence over social. I just have to find a good man like my friend and have a LTR to bring me back to a social life once again. Any offers guys?

Gaydar

Most gay men say they can spot a gay man a mile off; Gaydar being their usual method. Do gay men really have gaydar? Is it the way the other man walks or talks? Is it the way he smells sending your senses reeling? Maybe it is a look he gives you as you walk down the street or while drinking at a bar? Whatever it is most gay men say they have it. Personally for me it is the way they hold themselves, their eyes looking you up and down.

I often see men watch me and give me the eyes over as I walk through town. It is not my clothes, for usually I am in work clothes or my drivers uniform. But I can see their eyes and they often meet and you can see an attraction. These are the guys looking for action but not a relationship. They want sex not love. I am all for sex but I like passion with sex and guys just looking for sex, have no passion in them. They are just sexual animals looking to relieve themselves. They are usually young guys with a sex drive beyound their capacity to satisfy, balls bursting for relief and they don't care how or where. As you get older and more mature, you look for something other than a quick suck or fuck, something that has more of a meaning.

So next time your eyes meet on some great looking guy in the street or at a bar, think of what you are really looking for. Are you looking for sex or passion?

Friends

Being a gay man is not easy. The world is against you 100%, even family can disown you. That is why gay friends are so important. They provide the shoulder to cry on when times are tough, people to celebrate with when it is your birthday, or you have a chieved the impossible. They are your sounding board when a relationship is teetering on the brink. They are the voice of reason.

Friends are forever, boy friends come and go. Well maybe some boy friends stay and become lifelong partners but this is few and far between as gay relationships are known for their brevity. But if you look at your friends, you will find you have 2 or 3 really good friends you know you can count on 24 hours a day. These are your lifeline, so don't ever lose them.

Authors

There are not many gay authors but I recently found one whose writings I love. He has several books available through Amazon and Kindle. His name is Phillip Lesbirel and he writes mostly fetish books and in particular skinhead books, but his recent releases 'Daniel', 'Fighting Dog' and 'Not Black, Not White' are great and I have read all 3. He has also written about the taboo subject of Diaper lovers and the Adult Baby scene. Worth looking up his list of books in Amazon, here is the URL

My passengers

As you may all know, I am a bus driver. My passengers come from many walks of life but mostly from the working class and lower social classes. I am always amazed at how many men my gaydar picks up when they enter my bus and are confirmed when they exit. Many gay men do not drive. I don't know why this is so, but it is a fact; gay men don't or seldom drive.

Sometimes I get a nod or a wink, sometimes a kind word or a look of recognition. Some I would like to know better but how do I let them know without coming straight out and telling them they have a nice ass or those lips are very kissable. No I wouldn't do that for fear of embarassing them but there must be a way. When I find it I will let you know. maybe I should get a deoderant that smells like a man's spunk and see if there is any reaction. Now I digress.

Anyway, if you get on my bus and like what you see, just say 'Hi, great to see you again, how about coffee one night?' then I am sure you will get my mobile number.

questioning

Recently I became involved with a man who was questioning his sexuality. I have never met this man but we have struck up this relationship through FaceBook. Originally he threatened my life for being gay and for my thoughts in books and blogs I had written. He had a WP (White Power) look on life and a perchace to violence. Many would have had him banned from Facebook for his comments but I felt he needed to have contact and not to be ignored. Now I consider him a good friend, maybe not in his thinking, I don't think that will ever change, but he was a man who needed help and guidence. He was questioning his sexuality and found that although he had girlfriends he could not relate to them.

After 18 months of contact he is now willing to accept he is gay. He is, of course, scared of the repercussions of coming out so we must consider him closeted. I have no dought he will eventually come out but he needs to find a man he loves and the suport of that man to allow himself to be who he really is and the suport for when he is outcaste from his family and friends who are all WP and Nationalistic in their outlook. He is young and he is scared but I admire him because he has finally found himself. He has looked past the teachings and persuations of his upbringing and accepted himself for what he is, a gay man.

Graham Norton

It is so refreshing to watch Graham's show. He hides nothing and shows us that being gay is not taboo. His guests are aware of his leanings and accept him and his many questions in the vain they are asked. I am always in tearflowing laughter when I watch his show and wish more gay men would be as open as he is.

Being gay in this age is not as sinful as it was say even 20 years ago, although in some countries where religion rules the country, there has been a shift to prejudice and discrimination, leading in many cases to inprisonment and to the extreeme, death.

It is guys like Graham who show us that being gay is who you are and to be accepted for that. Thank you Graham for a wonderful show and fantastic entertainment.

Friends

One of the most importand things for a gay man is friends. Lovers come and go, relationships can flounder but friendship lasts eternal. A true friendship will overcome the odd disagreement or politcal difference and friendships without substance will fall be the roadside. If you have just a handfull of really true friends then you are blessed. I count maybe 4 really true friends on my list, but have many 'friends' or aquantences and of course these are important as a balance to your social life but those true friends are what will give you the lifestyle and social acceptance we all desire. Rich or poor, it makes no difference. Of the 4 true friends I have, 2 are fairly wealthy and 2 like myself, scratching for the almighty dollar. Our friendship is based on a need to balance each other, of help to talk things out and overcome those annoying problems you cannot see the problem for the wool over your eyes. You may not take their advise on some occassions but they will still support your decission. That's true friendship.

He needs our support

Julian Assange has gone out on a limb for the world, bringing us the world behind the world leaders decisions. Is this wrong? In the eyes of those affected of course it is, but to us mere mortals it shows us the deviant ways of our elected leaders. We elect these people to represent us not deceive us. Wikki Leaks gave us the truth so why are the Governments so scared about the truth?

Gay authors

I have recently been looking for reading material in the gay genre and about skinheads. There is virtually nothing available so I have written 3 books in the gay skinhead genre. One is now published and available through the website http://www.philliplesbirel.com and through Amazon.com. The other 2 will be published later this year. The published book is called 'A Matter of Honour' and concerns a young skinhead who is jailed but given a promise by police to remove his record if he assists them to infiltrate a Nazi skinhead group. Although not a gay writing persay, it has gay undertones and gay sex scenes.

The two books to be released later this year are 'Life's Journey' about a young gay skinhead and his journey through life, accepting being gay, finding out the pleasures of gay fetishes and ultimately to imprisonment for his skinhead beliefs. The other book, 'Daniel' is also a skinhead book about a straight skinhead questioning his sexuality and ultimately accepting his gay leanings. He becomes facinated by the gay lifestyle, the fetishes that suround him and his eventual non-consentual enslavement by a corupt copper. Both these books are available as a trilogy or as a complete book.

The gay genre is a fast developing area and more gay authors are now submitting their works for publicaation. Few publishing houses are willing to openly associate themselves with the GLBT community but through self publication, many gay authors can now distribute their works openly through online book stores such as Amazon.com and other EBook websites. As members of the online gay community we must support these gay authors and make their sales noticed by mainstream publishers. This is the only way we can get more gay literature published and more readily available on the shelves of book stores.

Skinhead Master/slave relationships

The gay skinhead scene has many sides, but one side seldom discussed is the skinhead Master/slave relationship. The bootboi is usually considered a sub or slave and many have lasting relationships with Dom or Master skinheads. Most have developed this relationship from a love/sexual relationship discovering the bootboi sub along the way and developing it over time. Some subs eagerly seek out Dom skinheads and start as weekend or temporary slaves, living separate lives untill they both realise they need to be constantly together.

The skinhead Master/slave relationship is no different to the many Master/slave relationships in the straight and gay communities, but becomes more specific to the skinhead culture and way of life. Both partners are skinheads from the start and already are part of the culture and finding each other through the usual gay encounters of pubs, parties and clubs. The Dominant partner will always exercise control of any sub or slave they find even if for a night or weekend, but when the relationship extends past that, a division of the relationship evolves and usually a relationship becomes evident. The piss boi, the bootboi or just the slave, all show their traits quickly and Masters see the potential for Domination. Time is what tells the two if the relationship will evolve to a more permanant lifestyle or not. This is usually not to whether the sub will obey but to whether the Dom or Master wants this sub or slave for his own. Not all Masters like all subs/slaves. A slaves willingness is only as good as his willingness to submitt to that particular Dom/Master. Chemistry will always play a part.

Many Dom/Masters will say chemistry is not important for a slave to serve, but without it a slave cannot serve with vigor and vitality. The slave must want to serve and to serve that Master, to love his Master and want to give his Master every desire his Master wishes. A skinhead Master needs to know his slave will make sure his Master will always look good, to his clothing presentation to his Boots sparkling and his slave's love showing in every look and move the slave makes. The slave also has to look immaculate, his boots also sparkling so that his Masters friends and squad know he is proud of his Master and wants his Master to be held in the highest esteeme of his friends and aquaintencies. Yes, a skinhead has pride both in his slef and his roots as a working man, but that does not mean he should neglect himself. His slave/sub will ensure he looks like a king wherever he goes. Long live bootbois and their Masters.
